Pocahontas County, IA | Sprayed a good burndown program in my no-till beans, 24D, 1/2 rate dual and 32 oz Glyphosate. That worked well. Came back with another 32 of Glyphosate + Cadet. A week later I had some weeds dead, some with damage but the beginnings of regrowth. Salesman says I should have used 15 gal of water per acre. He advised waiting at least 10 days between spraying to give the weed a chance to recover and absorb the next spray. I went with flexstar and oil and ams and between 16 and 18 gal water per acre. Same result. Salesman says Cobra now will kill the small ones and burn the tops of the bigger ones. Every time I have sprayed I have seen spots on the bean leaves and some leaves distorted. Surely Cobra will not be gentle. Question is am I hurting the beans more than the advantage of killing or wounding the weeds? | |
