I was a service tech for a lot of years. I never expected a tip no matter how
fast or well I did the job. I felt I was paid enough by my employer, I don't need/want a tip.
I have accepted cash tips, but it embarrassed me. I felt like a welfare case.
Lots of customers would bring me lunch if it was that time of day. Lots would invite me
in for supper if I worked late.
That meant more to me than any money tip.
Maybe I had good bosses. I just don't think most techs look for tips.
Now, waitresses or bartenders...different situation.
They work for tips. I always tip 20% to them.
