Great post, Last year at the beginning of harvest our Country Ins, agent stopped by the farm to see how things were going. We told him from the corn that we had combined that it appeared that we would have a claim. He said that he would file a pre-harvest claim for us for crop insurance. After harvest was completed we contacted him with our actual yield to see if we were due money. His assistant told us that a claim was never placed for us, the claim date had passed and that we were SOL. It was a lesson to us, turned out our corn yielded high enough that we didn't have a claim, but we are going to have it IN WRITING this year from the agent that we have a claim filed.
