Central Kansas | Got a 1.40 rain here at the farm last night BUT all but one field of Corn hardly got any,............maybe 10 to 20 hundredths. Pulled some ears and this appears to be,"What you see, is what you get". Not many like the good ear but most other plants have the dismal ears. At a final 22k pop, with say 20% with a good ear, will the fields make 30 to 50 bushels? These last 2 weeks of 100 to 108 degree HEAT has been the culprit. Sure wished I'd planted 2 weeks earlier, maybe the pollination would have been better.
On a side note, seen some Beans that were planted probably the last week of April and about 1/2 of them are Brown TOAST. My Beans planted at the more normal time (May 20th) are green over all the field and standing about knee high.
