You should not use ANY metal fittings or lines (especially copper) if you have it hooked to the RO water system.
I connected my fridge to the RO system...I bypassed the filter that is built into the fridge. Mine is a Kitchen Aid and used 1/4 OD tube.
You could probably find tubing with a higher pressure rating...more like air line tubing.
