SE MN Still in Pothole Country | It won't hurt and might help to tap the pump with a screwdriver handle while the key is on. The plunger on the solenoid may be sticking. Before I replaced pump on our 1970 4000 it would stick once in a while. The diesel shop in Red Oak Iowa deals with the little short pump.(B model?) Did that to keep from replacing injector lines. Figured the original lasted 40 years and I do not need this one to last that long! Just because the lift pump is getting fuel to the injection pump does not mean it is up to specs and is probably worth replacing. |
