Subject: RE: corn question

Iowa
i should say this. I never plant corn before may 5.NEVER. And dont tell me it wont yield. last year i planted 25 acres on June 5 and it made 209. the corn planted may 10 to may 20 averaged around 150. other guys in the area planted way earlier and I doubt made 125. my best corn ever was 40 acre planted may 18. made 236 it was very good bottom ground in a very dry year. it seems like we get very heavy rains in april and early may and if you plant then you end up replanting half of it anyway. then the ground stays so wet that the corn doesnt grow much. this year was different. we had a dry april. I forgot to say most of my corn is chopped for silage and earlage so i dont care if it dries down for the combine.
