Subject: Synthetic in Cummins?

Warburg, AB
Hey all,
running a '91 W350 Dodge with 12V non-aftercooled Cummins, picked it up used. Wanting to run 15W-40 synthetic (Amsoil), but it has 339,xxx on the clock. It sat for a while, running a lighter conventional oil to clean it up a bit, oil pressure is good, doesn't appear to burn oil (other than from normal use), starts incredibly easy, and all in all runs good. Being a "million mile" engine, am I going to be ok? Seen plenty of these things hit 300,000 miles easy.
