No, it seems the sooner you start "fixing it" the better. Split applications and spooning out big amounts make sense. Make sure you get it spread evenly and if that requires splits than do it.

I have studied crops planted behind dry fertilizer with no liquid the last two days and I can say the dry program looks better than liquid programs over a lot of acres in different places in Ohio.
