reddirtfarmer - 6/27/2012 19:25 Matt we were running both (seed in the rear row only) but with covers for 15' rows. We didn't see a good way to only put down one row...especially with the fertilizer.

If you run only the front rank for cover crops, you may not need a lot of extra weight.

Running both ranks, you may need 4,000 - 5,000 lbs of additional ballast.

btw, the thin soybean stand could be a result of running fertilizer in the row.
