Some water has so much iron in it that it will clog the well screens and cut off water flow into the well. Pour a couple of barrels of acid in the well, slush it around for a day, and the acid melts the iron deposits off the screens allowing the well to produce more water. Another method to open the screens is to use blasting caps at various levels in the well.
