Subject: Cultivating corn when its hot and dry

So whats the consensuse, does cultivating when its hot and dry hurt or help? It would suck to waste any moisture but I know the benifits of getting some air to the roots also. Never seen it this hot and dry this early around here, usually we are wishing it would stop rainin so we could finish plantng this time of year. Just the oppisite this year........
