With a Deutz we have found you only need a belt break rack puller solenoid like a Case-IH tractor has, a fuel shut down will not kill the engine quick enough if the belt breaks. The rest of the Murphy gauges are unnecessary because if it has engine oil when you check it daily there’s not much else that can go wrong that Murphy gauges are going to save you from. If you ever have to work on the bottom end of one just throw it away because it’ll cost too much to fix. There’s been a lot of Deutz engines destroyed from faulty gauges, leaking oil lines to gauge, or bad sending units. We just put brass plugs in the port where the sending goes and let her rip; sure haven’t lost one from puking all the oil on the ground. The problem with a oil pressure gauge is by the time the pressure drops low enough to shut it down the damage is done and you need to call the scrap steel guy.
