i think we need to be careful comparing ground that was ripped. The ripped ground will always be better on a year like this because there will be more moisture deep regardless of what was done the top 4 inches. My yard is completely brown except where the ground was dug up to put in the utilities. My yard is 3 years old. Last year our ripped corn was 10 to 15 bu better. Unfortunely the ground was to hard last fall to do any ripping. Southeastern illinois.
