You may want to add more smart pins to your planter if it's a wide planter. May give you a better idea of your down force, and the Airforce needs at least three pins reading correctly to be able to run in a standard, etc. mode. If you don't have 3 pins reading you will have to run it manually. I had some guys running 20/20 this year that said they were reading lower ground contact and running more down pressure to plant this spring, but we decided that it was mostly due to the dry conditions. Some of the biggest planters couldn't apply enough down force with Airforce in no-till to keep their ground contact up and depth even as the soil type changed. They had to add weight to the wings on the planter. I've seen a good bit of sidewall compaction this year in our corn. You should also check to make sure your planter bar is running level because that could affect your depth if you have trouble keeping the seed at 2".
