Subject: Early maturity beans.

I planted some wet spot fill ins July 17, 2008. I bought 0.9 maturity from Albert Lea Seed House. I planted them about 360K, planter set for 180K, two passes about 15" apart. The BBs were harder than the regular beans I'd planted in mid June, also no till, at harvest. My custom combiner didn't have a yield monitor and most of my patches were too small to have registered anyway. I figured on it being ground cover, though the beans didn't grow tall or bushy, and some drowned out. The tiny beans may not have stayed in the combine even. They didn't shade the ground much either.
