Rolla, ND | You likely have your own test plots if you want to look into it. Does your crop yield better near the tiles that are say 2 feet in the ground than where they are 4 ft? If not, I wouldn't worry about getting too close.
There is a theoretical advantage in some situations to not draining all you can, so you see NDSU on their very level RRV soils pushing the idea of control structures to limit draining. | |
