Subject: RE: New auger Westfield, Farm King or Brandt???

Rivers, MB
No experience with Brandts.

Had 10"x61 and 10x71' Westfield's for years and years and years. Never liked the lift system with the cables. Had lots of troubles with the seals on the lift cylinders. Have heard the quality of workmanship has diminished on the Westfields since AgGrowth took over. Were looking for an 85-90' auger when we put up some new bins. FarmKing's were slightly cheaper so tried a 13x85' Farm King. Like it alot. Have since got a second one. Like the scissor lift on the Farm King's. Only thing I don't like on the FarmKings is that it eats chains on the drive end. Know guys that replace theirs 2x / year as preventative maintenance. We replace our bottom bearings and chains every summer as preventative maintenance and have not had problems to speak of. Really like the wide stance of the Farm King augers.
