northcentral iowa | You are obviously on top of this issue. Here are a few thoughts and you can take them or leave them. The seed industry is slipping on the overall quality of seed that is sold each year. This is the result of a number of trends but the primary one is because they can. Lets just say that I have first have knowledge and experience from most of the majors and there is a general lack of priority for producing high vigor seed. In general they don't understand seed physiology and the folks that did are gone. I think it is a real threat into the future especially considering all of the effort and money spent on precision planting. Good luck | |
