I didn't....
I said consider locking in basis as part of a multi-stage plan where you set the basis on old crop now and get the full benefit of a futures rally...
for those with new crop contract concerns, there are MUCH cheaper ways of exiting that contract besides carrying corn that today is worth +100Z which you can replace someday for 75 cents to a dollar less when considering basis alone....you have crop insurance and other methods to manage the futures risk on new crop sales.... | |
