| I'm watching Pawn Stars right now. I think it has a lot of history in it, with the descriptions of the unique objects brought in. Same with American Restoration and the auction and pickers shows. One thing that strikes me about American Pickers is the scenes where they drive atound the highways -- the camera actually points towards the farms and buildings it passes by -- you get an idea of the types of farms across the country and the first show to acknowledge that farms occupy most of the spaces inbetween cities.
I think the Swamp People is a pretty dumb show, but it is my 10 year old nephew's favourite. Storage Wars is a cheap show with a dumb concept, but I like it.
You have to admit, that compared to producing an original history documentary, it is a lot cheaper to just have a camera crew follow around people doing their regular everyday jobs.
