| The guy wants to farm and you need land to do it. You forgot about capital appreciation, which has been double digits the last several years. Over time (decades) one can figure 5% on that in addition to the income. Not saying we could see a dip in vlaues, but even if it did farmers don't sell unless they have too (typically over leveraged or died). A stock can go under and the piece of paper saying you own it is wortless, banks accounts don't pay squat, but the land will still be there generating income year in and year out. | |
