Yes, I believe you can easily get 10 years out of these feeders. And they are heavy enough you can actually weld to them if you have to. They are made of angle iron and heavy walled tubing.
A calf will eat fine out of this, but if you are setting it out for just calves, I would use the smaller one.
I use a larger one for the cows and calves that have not been weaned, and the calves eat out of it fairly well. Once they are weaned they go to the smaller feeder.
We make 4x5 rounds. The big feeder will hold 2-3 bales and the smaller one just one bale. | |
