Subject: Re: Balancing family and farming

Springville Alabama
The in-laws dropped in last Saturday while I was side dressing corn. After side dressing corn there was 1 acre of watermelons and cantaloupes that had to be hoed. They were growing up with morning glories. It was forcast to rain all day Sunday. I told my wife to spend time with her mom, but she helped me instead. Her mom and stepdad left before we were finished. They did get to spend time with the kids though.

My wife told me Sunday morning that she wished that she had gotten to spend time with her mom (she lives 50 miles away). I told her that she should have, but she said that she knew that we had to get the hoeing done. We loaded up the kids (in the rain BTW) and went to her moms and spent the day.
