Near-north Ontario, French River
I know NOTHING about grass seed production so bear with me. You say you can only get 25-30 acres a day through your machines, is that because you travel really slow in the field or is it more an environmental thing where you can only run 3 or 4 hrs a day? I was surprised to hear from a guy that worked for a custom wheat crew out in western Canada, he said they would start at 9am and work well into the night before quiting, around here we usually don't start till 1pm and are done as soon as the sun goes down. Being close to the lake the straw get tough as soon as the dew sets in then takes half the next day to dry enough to cut.
