North of London | If you can weld then way you go.
Get some heavy pipe and weld them up like the old style swings in a park were made.
i am not even a good welder.
I used 2 inch piped from an old sucker rod well.
4 legs on angle 1 bar across top and 1 leg out end.
No plans, think I was going to put a brace on other end too and never did.
Room for 3 swings on mine.
i welded loops on top bar at appropriate spacing for chains for swing seats.
Made seats with old belting from threshing machine or something.
Used to replace them every 5 years or so but since grandchildren came around we have used purchased plastic seats.
They come with a short length of chain which we used quick connect links to attach to original chains at top.
I made this set 30- 35 years ago and it still sits in the back yard.
3 swings and 4 kids.
Gave them training in sharing and doing without.
Now have 5 grandchildren that are learning to share too.
Can get measurements if it would help you and a picture too if you would like.
I just used what I had for material and went with it. | |
