USA | Well Rab, welcome to farming in my part of Macoupin County, IL the last 5 years.
6 plus inches in the last week, 10 plus inches since April 13.
Good looking corn with good stands planted end of Mar is starting to show stress from too much water, even on tiled ground.
N def , is shaping up to be a problem again later in the growing season, for those that don't sidedress, which is the majority.
Corn planted in April has holes in it, with thin stands, even on tiled ground this year.
Dirt is dead, from lack of O, is sour smelling. Planted Last Sat, some high spots are up, pretty much everything else is not going to come up, can squeeze the puss out of the kernals.
Have 30% corn left to plant, plus the 70% that is planted to run over and spot in the holes, going to be a struggle, to get corn up now, if we don't get a week of no rain after it is planted. In 09 had corn that was close to spiking, that got snuffed out, when got another big rain , in these type of conditions.
