Breckinridge Co. , Kentucky | Just curious if you had ever heard of a ranch near Las Vegas, NM area called Naylor Ranch. I think I have the spelling right. My grandpa left from Ky back in the early 1900's, sometime between 1915 and early 20's, and worked on the ranch. When he had enough of that, grandpa worked the wheat harvest from Oklahoma up to the Dakotas and then hobo'd on trains back home in Ky. Dad has some pictures that grandpa had from his time back then, I will try to get them and post. Looked like some tough country out there. Grandpa was my idol and grew up hard, worked in the coal mines of Eastern Ky until he saved enough money to get the family out of there and bought a farm in central Ky. |
