| A guy who runs a tractor for me in the fall stoped last night to give me some mushrooms.Then he proceeds to tell me his uncle and his wife who built a new house in a pretty secluded area spotted a couger a couple of days ago.Seems like his Uncle and his wife have gotten into watching the wildlife with their binoculars and the other morning watched a bunch of deer hop the fence.A couple of minutes later they seen something else crawl through the fence with their eyes but it didn't seem like it was a deer.Took another look through their binoculars and seen it was a couger,and a huge one at that.It snuck along the fence like it had something spoted and then started bounding along and pounced on what they think was a rabbit, then disapered into the timber again.This is in northeast Iowa.They called Butch, the guy who helps me, he said he looked and the tracks that cat made in the mud were huge. The last bound that cat made when it grabed the rabbit was roughly 30 feet between tracks. | |
