| I guess one of my first helping jobs was at hay time. This was in the early '50's and we still unloaded bales at the barns with a hay fork and track carrier in the peak of the roof. My job was to pull the forks of hay up into the barn with a rope tied to the front hitch of the 8n FORD and be careful not to drive on the rope. The other job was to drive a tractor pulling a hay rack in the hay field while 2 men walked picking up bales that had been dropped by the baler. Those were happy times for me. Somtimes wish I could go back and relive those times with my Dad and all the old neighbors who have since passed on. | |
