Subject: Re: DYED FUEL AND JOBBERS

Near-north Ontario, French River
I don't know about Missouri but here in Ontario the fuel guy pays exactly the same price for the raw FUEL, where the difference is is in the taxes, offroad ( dyed or coloured) is exempt from some of the taxes that are applied to clear diesel. Now throw in market forces and the spread between clear and coloured is often less then the difference in the taxes. Supply and demand. edit... forgot to add there may be some pricing differences depending on the additive package in the fuel, but the rack price for diesel is the same, in fact both coloured and clear come out the same pipe at the 'rack', additives and dyes are added to the raw diesel as it's loaded onto the truck. "Jobbers" or independent fuel guys will often skimp on the additive packages to gain a lower price, but like all things you get what you pay for. You pay a premium price and you should be getting a premium full additive package fuel.
