blairsville,pa
we used to square hay to sell our trailer is 8'x25' But we would always start in the front and work our way back. First row ( starting at bottom and working up) go 5 wide running length wise front to back, 2nd row we ran 2 rows centered down the middle and a row side ways on each side of that. then repeat. we only every went 5 rows high. On our trailer you had 3 layers of 45 bales (bottom, middle, top) and rows 2 and 4 had 18 bales running long ways and 32 bales running side ways (18 each side). 235 bales strapped every other one. Probably not the best way but for 30"-32" bales seemed to make a nice tight stack.
