When I was just a youngster some of the men in the comunity got together, put some hay into shocks , and recreated harvesting with an old threshing machine. It was so hot and dusty. My job was to keep the water bucket moving between the people picking up the shocks , the ones throwing shocks ,and the ones bagging the wheat. It was hard work and no one ever wanted to do it again. One of the dangers of picking up the shocks of wheat was that more times than not , rattlesnakes were in there looking for mice.So much for recreating memories.
