Manson IA | I work full time IT as well... I use all android, wife uses all iOS... Mine is droid Pro phone, and ASUS Transformer Prime Tablet. Wife uses iPhone 4 and iPad 2. She hates my phone, but loves my tablet. I don't care for either of hers, but they work for her.
From what I've seen the iPad apps are mostly the same. Just iPhone apps stretched to fit an iPad screen.
My advice is try both out for a few hours and see what you like best about each. If you are new to the arena from what I've seen, whatever you get used to first, you will like the best in iOS vs Android...
