SW Iowa | Are the bogie wheels bolt on? If so, take those off so you don't have to jack up the machine so far. Plus if you just jack up the tractor far enough for the guide blocks to miss, then you have more slack in the track to play with. I always take off the outer idler after the track is detensioned. Then I take a come-along and pull the idler all the way back, compressing the cylinder all the way, this allows more track slack. Also, when you retension, the tension light may not go out, and it can be caused by dirt getting in behind the tension cylinder, and not hitting the switch to turn off the light. It does help to pull the tent shield and blow the dirt out from behind the tension cylinder before loosening the track. | |
