Subject: Liquid Fert. transfering questions. Need advice

Central Minnesota
I just bought a 2" trash pump tonight for moving 6-24-6 from tender to saddle tanks on the tractor. The guy at Northern said I should get an ag trash pump, because he said the seals won't hold up to fertilizer. Well, Talking to the agronimist, he said 6-24-6 is non corrosive and I shouldn't have a problem with a normal trash pump. Should I be leary of this or is it ok? Also, reading some threads on here, I see some guys saying you need an electric pump to transfer liquid fert. from saddle tanks on the tractor, to a squeeze pump? Is this true? I thought the squeeze pump would pull the fertilizer itself without an electric pump. That's the way it was set up when I bought it anyway. I am ready to plant, and am pulling my hair out on what to do about both of the above situations. If anyone can shed any light on the subject, that would be greatly appreciated!! As always, thanks in advance, for any and all help.
