It might be a difference in the series. We had a 9230 and still have a 9270. Both ran just one fan speed. The different speeds are from opening and closing doors as someone said.
There was a control upgrade. I forget what was original, but after we had ours a few years they came out with a different control panel that included a temperature control for the AC
