Saranac, Michigan | We had a Deere 490 planter. I did not see it mentioned. It had a planting shoe that you had to careful not to plug by rolling backward. Round steel seed and dry hoppers, mechanical lift, row markers that would never drop just one side.
We pulled it with B and ran a cable from the rockshaft to a pulley above the drawpin back to the lift and got rid of the mechanical parts. That worked pretty well and we planted about 300 acres a year with it. It was pretty slow work. | |
