You made me laugh at asking Ben about fertilizing pastures. Joked the other day that they used the big bale of corn stalks as a corner post only because his cows did not know what a bale of hay looks like. That photo is down little. If I had time, would put a unicorn in the picture next to it and a saying, "You sent me back to this" Would say he is correct, in what you are seeing is the rotational grazing and the manure being spread back on to the fields where it is taken from. Also not grazing short makes lots of difference. Strenghtens the root system some how. It is amazing how a rotational grazing system makes such a difference after about the 3rd year.
