| Garvo, I wish I had your discipline to walk, or at least do some kind of exercise every day. I have an exercise bike sitting next to me as I type this, but I never use it LOL!
Cold air really gets me anymore. Not that this winter was that cold but the early morning air here is usually pretty crisp through the winter months. Doesn't help that I'm on 4L of oxygen now. I do have an attachment for my home concentrator so now I can fill my own portable bottles. Some walking would do me good.
I don't see myself ever kicking this bottle habit. Dad was on O2 for 17 years. I'm starting out about 10 yrs sooner than he did. Gotta have it if I do anything to exert myself. Mom had diabetes and ended up getting a leg amputated because of it. I have both the diabetes and lung trouble, plus my own heart problems. But life is good in spite of all that. Why, because I can still get up every morning and complain about something LOL!
I look around and there are always folks worse off than me. The worst thing is a kid with a serious illness or terminal disease. Seems like we see a lot of that nowdays. I don't know just what the point of my post is but if we have our health, food on the table, a warm house in winter, and if can get up every morning and gripe about something, we have it made. I hope to be able to do just that for a long time yet. | |
