south central WI | Quit complaining about dairy prices. We had a good couple of years. Yes feed prices are high, but everyone is dealing with it. If you didnt know prices were going to drop when they did that is your own fault. Get to know your industry, this isn't your fisrt time at the rodeo. Prices are good for 18 months and bad for 18. I was surprised they held high as long as they did. I thought they were due to drop a few months earlier. Prices could have been locked in for much higher than they are now. If you refuse to pay attention to the markets that is your own fault. It's kind of unsettling to read posts from someone so negative about the dairy industry. It's almost as if it is a contest with you to prove your life is so much more difficult than anyones. Yes feed is high and milk is so-so. Fertilizer prices are climbing daily and crop prices are falling. I'm a dairy farmer so i know it's not easy. Life is what you make of it. | |
