Sorry, should have added more info. I've drilled hundreds of holes with this setup and never had one do this. Only difference was the new bit. 1" split point with everything clamped down tight. I use water soluble cutting oil and flood it, drill bits always come out cool to touch. The bit looks perfect as far as angle on the flutes, I'll have to find some good measuring tools to tell exact angle. I was running at around 100rpm, but as you say that shouldn't affect wobble. Steel was a piece of scrap from another project. Weird part is that the 9/16 bit did the same thing on one piece, then on the next piece made a perfect hole that looked like it came off a mill. Thanks for the input......
