What Merel said. Although if new bits I doubt they were faulty.
Chipped leading edge on one cutting lip???
What size pilot hole or did you have one?? Too large of pilot and the center point of bit can't hold the bit centered. Then it takes a REALLY SOLID drill press to hold pieces inline.
I quit using a pilot in a drill press even on the large holes.
