Any low pressure area (tornado, hurricane, dust devil, bathtub drain) is supposed to turn counter clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and Clockwise in the Southern- although during the Palm Sunday tornado outbreak(in the 1980's I think) several of the tornadoes turned clockwise.
