Yes, Hondas are that much better. Kohler is a good engine too. Dad had a Lawn Boy mower he bought in the late 70's, that thing lasted 20+yrs. I'd go with a Honda. More $ up front but will last forever. I have a Honda on my air compressor (13 yrs old this year) change the oil twice a year and a couple of capfuls of Berrymans B-12 at every oil change. No problems, doesn't smoke and starts on the first pull, second if its cold. I did put a muffler on it a couple years ago.
