update: I got the manual, unfortunately it was not new enough to include the update to the harness with the 37 pin connectors. The harness in the manual still used two 6 row harnesses with rectangle plugs, and they only showed 15 leads. So, it is still a mystery what the extra wire is for, but it seems like it has no function.
