Subject: Re: 496 Disk

Audubon,Iowa
a few questions:
1. What spacings are betweet your disk blades? the narrow spacing i believe was 7 inches not good
2. What tractor or tractors are you pulling this with if you cannt leave the hydraulics in float mode the disk will not run level side to side the wiggs will be at a different depth than the center
3. Do you use the stopps on the center gang? You should start out shallow and work deeper too deep can happen too easy a little is alot!
4. does the disk have a leveling system or harrow on the back? does it contact the ground propperly and is it in a good state of repair?
5. Does the disk run level frount to back does it throw more dirt than it returns or vise versa? Adjust the crank if it does... if you use different tractors on it are their drawbars at the same distance from the ground? this will effect the job done.
