Statesville, NC
I think any of them hold up under good conditions. One reason for Woods model change was they couldn't compete by building their own gearboxes. They are now buying the same Chinese gearbox that Bush Hog and many others use. Even though it has Woods or Bush hog cast in, it's still the same inside. Same deal with Deere. Leaping Deere on the side, but made in China. The 3180 had some innovative features, such as the slip clutch on the back side of the gearbox and all the wheels in the same line. They still seemed to have some gearbox issues despite them being US made. I think they simplified manufacturing with the BW series. If you look closely at a Bush Hog beside a BW series Woods, you will find the design is very similar.
