He should consider it. Apparently the customers are concerned about something or they wouldn't be suggesting what machinery he should be running. There would be a savings on tractor hours and fuel. I would also agree that with a new or newer drill and the ability to get the job done faster is worth a higher custom rate. Are the customers willing to pay more? Is there a possibility to pick up more acres? Will they go elsewhere if he doesn't buy a wider drill? Questions to answer.
