Subject: Double Disk openers clearance question

Ringwood, IL (NEIL)
John Deerer 7200 planter. I know the disks should be at least 14.5" diameter in general. I also know that you need to slip a business card from the front and back and then measure the gap. What is the range that I should be in as far as a measurement (I thought it was 1-1/2" to 2")? Also, too high of a number means what and too low of a number means what in terms of seed trench? Also how tight should the gauge wheels run on the disks? tight but free spinning or snugger than that or have a little gap?TIA
